 In addition to quilting, I renew by connecting with
relatives, the ones I came into the world with, and
since, along with those who came with my husband. I
call his kin, lovingly, “the colorful-dales” because
like him, they are. I join their family pilgrimage
to a lake camp in northern Minnesota every four years. The “colorful-dales” know
how to have fun!
I hauled my sewing machine with tubs of fabric,
setting up in the main lodge, overseeing all kinds
of camp activities while quilting for my fun! I
did tear myself away from sewing, however, to compete
in the family canoe races. My team was in
the lead until capsized by a lurking lake monster,
a.k.a., cousin Kerry. The photo is of me with
my canoe mate, cousin Abby.
 I label and sign every finished quilt. You
should, too! I can help you do that with two
new label panels: Label
Medley I & Label
Medley II. Label
Medley I border themes include
quilters, thread spools and quilts. Label
Medley II border themes include florals, sewing machines,
and “Baby.”
 The
end of August and the first of September is the gateway
to changing seasons. Children are back
in school. Family reunions and summer vacations are
memories. Now, re-energized, it’s time
to start on new quilting projects. Remember,
the quilt isn’t finished until your signature
is on it!

Your newsletters are always so inspiring. I felt like I knew who you were because
you've shared a little of your life with all of us. Sure, you have new products
to tell us about but the little bits and pieces of your life are what make it
unique. The posted snapshots help too.
I am especially inspired by the printed fabric. How original to have Scripture
on fabric we can use in our quilting projects. Although I am not a survivor of
a tragic death of a loved one, your brother's story is certainly one that brings
home the brevity of life for all of us. Thankfully, we have The Word so we can
know what is to come based on our choices (or lack thereof) in this mortal life.
