Quilting Newsletter

No one can say my husband, Mike, isn’t a colorful guy.  He wore ties, starched button-downs and suits for thirty years working for private not-for-profit and public service agencies before coming to work for Block Party Studios.  He now wears tie dyes every day, even to church!  Joined by family & friends, Mike’s kept our family business going along with our able crew the last six months while I’ve fought breast cancer.  He’ll vend along with brother-in-law, William, at the International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati in April, their fourth show together on the road during my convalescence.

I am eager to get back to the excitement at major quilt shows myself!  I thrive on meeting companion quilters.  I regenerate from your reactions to our products and collect ideas on new items to produce!  And by the time you read this I will have completed all scheduled chemotherapy and radiation treatments.  Whoo-hoo!  Your prayers for healing can now join mine for thanksgiving.  I’ve been lifted into recovery by your support and by the hands-on love of so many family & friends.   I can never thank you enough.

Attempting to work with “chemo-brain” is difficult at best.  However, I have new fabric panels in the works for nurses and another for the next iteration of “Things Quilter’s Really Think.”   Meanwhile, we have kitted two of our new panels for your project pleasure: Our Sewing Machine Cozy kit using the Avalanche panel and a Blue Star Service kit using our Light in the Window panel.  Note:  We added a clarification to our FREE Sewing Machine Cozy pattern.   Get the updated version if you downloaded this pattern before March 1st.

Finally, in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day here is a snap of me in Ireland last June at a fabric store in Sligo!  Where else would I be?  Cheers!
