“Put your foot down and sew!” I say to myself
when projects begin to pile-up and I’m under the
wire to finish a quilt top. And “just do it” I
do. Or, redo it when discovering my bobbin emptied too
many stitches back! Regardless, quilting remains
fun whether it’s for work or play.

A few years ago I purchased a "Stress Therapy" kit
and had fun making it and coloring the quilter to look like me. I
took it to our Land of Lincoln Quilters Association annual retreat
in Princeton, Illinois, and hung it on the door to our sewing
room. It has faithfully gone to retreat every year since
as our mascot. The rest of the year it has an honorable
spot in my sewing room. I have also made "He Cooks,
She Sews" and had it hanging in my kitchen. My late
husband did all the cooking at that time and I made it for him. I
have since retired it in his honor. There were others along the
way, but these are my very best favorites! Keep up the
