Afraid of paper piecing? BPS’s Guiding Stars quilt will take the worry out of paper piecing for you. This beautiful quilt uses our Comfort of Psalms II pre-printed panel, but you can also use these panels: Baby Kisses, Dear Daughter, Dear Sister, Doggie Diaries, and Fantastic Felines, Using only 4 different fabrics and our panel your wall-hanging will go together quickly and easily. Friday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm $10.00 to hold a table
It’s been a while since we have offered this to you. Come out to the shop and do your sewing with us. We’ll have a table for you, plus cutting area, irons, ironing board and extension chords. Come and go as you please. You can sew one day or both. Just let us know!
We have a refrigerator and microwave so you can bring your lunch. If you want, we could even have a pot-luck on Saturday!
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
REGISTRATION
You will be enrolled in class after we have received
full paymentof your class fee. Sorry, we will not hold
space without prepayment. You may register for classes in person
or by phone, 1-800-419-2812, with a credit card.
PREPARATION
Please arrive early to set up your machine and
be ready to start class promptly at 7 pm. You are welcome
to arrive any time after 6pm to set up, sew, or shop.
SUPPLIES
Bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies.
We will provide cutting space and ironing
boards/irons. A supply list for your specific class will be available
after registration. If you need to purchase
class supplies, we ask that you purchase them from us. We offer
15% off class supplies during class time only.
CANCELLATIONS
Refunds will be given on cancellations made 7 business
days prior to the first class. (Cancellations for
Monday classes will be accepted until the close of business on
the PRECEEDING Monday, and so forth) If
you cancel less than 7 days prior, you are entitled to the class
materials included in fees, and you may pick
them up within 14 days. After that time, we cannot guarantee
availability of class materials. Sorry, no
refunds are available for cancellations after the start of a
class.
WEATHER CLOSINGS
In case of severe winter weather, please call to
verify whether class is being held. As a rule of thumb, if
there is no school at local public school, there is no class.
A make-up date will be scheduled.
MINIMUM ENROLLMENT
Classes may be cancelled if enrollment is less
than four people. If we are forced to cancel classes due to
low enrollment, you may reschedule into a different class or
receive a full refund.
CHILDREN
As a courtesy to other students, please do not
bring children or other non-paying guests to class.
SKILL REQUIRED
Beginner - These classes are for those who have never sewn or
used basic sewing tools.
Novice - These classes are for beginners who already know how
to use basic sewing tools.
Intermediate - These classes are for quilters who have mastered
basic tools and basic machine piecing,
such as strip piecing, making half square triangles, and basic
block making.
Advanced - These classes are for quilters who would like to acquire
specific new skill beyond the basics.
We’re located in Central Iowa in the Nevada Industrial
Park. Take I-35 to Hwy 30 East. Follow Hwy 30 about five miles
to West 18th Street/Airport Road. Turn North (left) onto West
18th Street/Airport Road and proceed one mile. Turn East (right)
onto West K Avenue. We’re the first building on the north
side of the street with a green roof/trim and tan siding. West
K Avenue is just south the T intersection of West 18th Street/Airport
Road and the old Lincoln Highway (now E41).
